One of Lincolnshire’s most popular historic estates is welcoming guests once again this Christmas with a new event. ‘A Christmas Chorus’ at Doddington Hall will take inspiration from Christmas classics and popular seasonal tunes, immersing visitors in the music of Christmastime as it unfolds over three floors of the Elizabethan Hall.
Guests can step inside the treasured family home near Lincoln, which has seen a lot of Christmas mornings over its four-hundred-year plus history, and soak up the seasonal atmosphere of Christmas through a series of intricately crafted, handmade scenes. The scenes are created by the present-day family, Doddington staff, volunteers, local artists and students from Lincoln College.
Planning for Christmas at Doddington begins in January. The creative team utilises natural, recycled and upcycled resources wherever possible, foraging everything they can from the gardens and grounds. Everything from birch, willow, and bulrushes, as well as recycled materials from across the estate are put to use in creating the displays that adorn three floors of the hall.

In the run-up to Christmas, Doddington Hall will be extending opening hours at the hall on selected dates into early evening. Times and dates for ‘A Christmas Chorus’ at Doddington Hall include:
- November 9 to December 15, Wednesday to Friday 11am until 4pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am until 4pm
- December 16 to December 23, Monday to Friday 11am until 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am until 4pm
The last timed entry slot will be one hour before closing. If you are unable to access the stairs, there will be a dedicated talk in the library with one of Doddington’s Room Guides at noon and 2pm daily.
Ticket prices include: Adult (£15), child four to 16yrs (£8.50), three and under (free), family of two adults and two children (£40), family of one adult and two children (£27), Doddington Season Ticket Holders (free). Tickets must be pre-booked online.
