The resort director of Butlin’s Skegness has provided an update on the main swimming pool closure after a major leak was found last year. The resort’s Splash Waterworld venue was put out of use by a burst pipe in November 2023 and the main pool has remained closed since.
Other attractions in the waterpark are still open, including the flumes, rides and children’s pool. However, many visitors continue to voice their disappointment at being unable to use the main pool, especially with summer approaching.
Resort director Jeremy Fletcher says that staff have been working hard to fix the issue and they will be talking to visitors shortly about what is next. He said: “It was in November last year when we identified a major leak on the pool.

“Since then it’s been partially closed. Of course, it takes time then to investigate. The team have been working really hard since November and really put a shift in to accelerate what is needed to do. I would expect us to be able to go out and talk to our guests around what the next phase looks like really shortly.”
Elsewhere on the resort, a new accommodation village has just opened to the public featuring 128 luxury holiday lodges. Each lodge can sleep up to six people and all come with private decking and dedicated parking spaces.
Mr Fletcher said he was “delighted” to open the new Maple Walk accommodation village which is aimed at those looking for some peace and quiet – all while still being close to the action. You can take a look around the new village here.
