Belton House and Rand Farm Park among Lincolnshire’s most visited attractions

Visit England has released its annual survey highlighting the most popular attractions across the country. Belton House was named the most visited Lincolnshire attraction in the East Midlands in 2023, with several others also making the list.

Bransby Horses in Lincoln was revealed as the most visited free Lincolnshire attraction with 49,500 visitors. The Museum of Lincolnshire Life in Lincoln was the second most visited free Lincolnshire attraction with 36,564 while Lincoln St. Mary Magdalene was third with 21,814.

In terms of paid attractions, Belton House recorded 358,078 visitors, the third most in the East Midlands. The second most visited paid Lincolnshire attraction was Rand Farm Park near Market Rasen with 108,533 visitors while the International Bomber Command Centre was third with 104,105.

Other Lincolnshire attractions which made the lists included Skegness Natureland Seal Sanctuary (103,258), Lincolnshire Wildlife Park (73,469), Tattershall Castle (47,308) and Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre (18,848). Attractions in England reported an 11 per cent increase in the volume of total visits from 2022 to 2023, however this is still 28 per cent below 2019 levels.

Museums/art galleries and places of worship received the highest increase in visits year on year (20 per cent) and (19 per cent) respectively. The British Museum was the most visited free attraction in 2023, attracting 5.8m visitors, up 42 per cent on 2022.

The Tower of London was the most visited paid for attraction in 2023, attracting 2.8m visitors, up 38 per cent on 2021.
